When appropriate, we help clients solve their recruiting or talent problems outside of a conventional retained executive search. These include:
EXECUTIVE ASSESSMENT:
We provide impartial advice as a third-party to clients who are already recruiting through other channels — other search firms, internal resources, chance, or advertising. We help by:
- Interviewing executives sourced through these other channels to cross-check interviewers' assessments, or to provide independent opinion, and/or
- Conducting reference-checks through question-setting which digs below conventional surface opinions.
RECRUITING / SEARCH AUDITS:
We perform audits of failing or failed searches conducted by other firms or agents. Recent examples include:
- Advising the COO of a global information services company on turning-around the unsatisfactory services of a search firm by defining milestones to instill discipline in the search project.
- Helping a major university revive a faltering search conducted by a search firm by identifying additional recruiting targets and potential candidates to which the underperforming search firm was directed.
COMPETITOR INTELLIGENCE:
We conduct studies of our clients' competitors. Recent examples include:
- For a major consulting firm, preparing a "Competitor Landscape" which assessed established and newly-emerging competitors to test our client's competitive advantage against them.
- For a leading consumer services company, an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the senior managements of our client's competitors.
