Operating Philosophy
OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLE: to serve clients in long-term relationships Since 1987, we have provided executive search services to fewer than 60 companies, the majority of whom have used our services repeatedly, and some continuously, for almost two decades.
OUR DIFFERENCE: deep knowledge of our clients. We invest heavily to understand our clients' people, businesses, and cultures which — we believe — are critical to successful executive search. We specialize around our clients, not any particular industry or sector. Each client is unique; the markets from which to recruit for them are not.
OUR GOAL: to be our clients' alter ego, to extend in a practiced, but sensitive way what our clients would do if they had the time to recruit. The result is a better fit and greater longevity of tenure of our recruited executives.
OUR APPROACH: consultative. We are problem-solvers, not purveyors of resumes or executive talent. Recruiting is the solution we provide to our clients' business problems, whether to identify directions for growth, implement that growth, revive operations, or strengthen a management "bench." We do not fill a "slot" or a position; instead, we recruit the executive who solves our clients' business problem. The result is a thoughtful — not just thorough — search.
OUR VALUE: broad experience across industries and sectors. We are not restricted by systems that must be used, or precedents that must apply. We import "best practices" for our clients from outside their industries, and provide insight when they need change from the outside. The results are broader search coverage, and realistic and better informed hiring decisions.
OUR FRAMEWORK: a partnership with our clients. We never work for clients' competitors. At the start of each engagement, we clarify the process, individual responsibilities, "deliverables and milestones," and timeline. We link our fee payment to that timeline — our "skin in the game" to synchronize our work with our client's expectations.
